Downtown West End City Centre Calgary MLS® Listings
Houses, Condos and Real Estate For Sale by Calgary REALTORS®.
Downtown West End traces its origins to 1884, shortly after the Canadian Pacific Railway reached Calgary in 1883, making it one of the city's earliest developed districts. It sits in the southwest quadrant of downtown, bounded by the Bow River to the north, 9th Street W to the east, the CP Rail tracks to the south, and 14th Street W to the west. The neighbourhood is now almost entirely high-density residential, with condominiums and apartment towers replacing all but a handful of remaining single-family homes. Paved multi-use pathways line the Bow River's north edge, and the community includes Mewata Armouries, Cowboys Park, and Contemporary Calgary, housed in the former Centennial Planetarium. It is well served by the Plus 15 skywalk network and the Downtown West-Kerby C-Train station, giving residents fast, car-free access into the downtown core and along the river pathway system.
