Scarboro City Centre Calgary MLS® Listings
Houses, Condos and Real Estate For Sale by Calgary REALTORS®.
Upper Scarboro is the residential area west of Crowchild Trail that the City of Calgary officially designates as Scarboro/Sunalta West, a distinct inner-city community from Scarboro proper on the freeway's east side. The split dates to 1964, when construction of Crowchild Trail and Bow Trail cut through what had originally been planned as one larger neighbourhood founded in 1912 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Upper Scarboro retains some of the same garden-city influence as its namesake, with curving streets, mature trees, and a mix of character homes and newer infill on the escarpment above the Bow River valley. Its location puts residents within easy reach of downtown Calgary, Kensington, and the Bow River pathway system. Because it shares a name and history with Scarboro, Upper Scarboro is sometimes confused with that community, but the two have functioned as separate neighbourhoods for more than sixty years.
