Calgary is a city that never stops growing. As we move into 2026, knowing exactly where a community sits on the map is the first step in your real estate journey. Whether you are hunting for a heritage home in Mount Royal or a pre-construction opportunity in Rangeview, you need the latest data.
We are pleased to share the official CREB® Community Map, the most current resource available for navigating the city's boundaries. This map is the "gold standard" used daily by REALTORS® to categorize listings for the year ahead.
What May Be New To You in 2026
The latest map highlights that Calgary isn't just growing outward - it's growing inward, too. Whether you are looking for a sprawling estate home on the edge of town or a modern infill in an established neighbourhood, there are new community codes you need to know.
Growing Within (Infill & Established West) Not all "new" communities are in the far suburbs. Several major developments are redefining established areas of the city:
-
Medicine Hill (West): Located on the Paskapoo Slopes near Winsport (Canada Olympic Park), this newer community offers stunning views and easy access to the mountains while remaining centrally located.
-
Osprey Hill (West): A new addition nestled near the prestigious Springbank Hill area, perfect for those seeking luxury living within the established West zone.
-
Currie (Inner City): Continued redevelopment in the historic CFB Currie Barracks area, offering modern density and convenience just minutes from downtown.
Expanding Outward (New Suburbs) If you prefer master-planned communities with brand-new schools and wetland preservation, look to the city's edges:
-
North (Blue Zone): Glacier Ridge and Ambleridge are rapidly expanding north of Stoney Trail near Symons Valley Ranch.
-
South East (Yellow Zone): The deep south is booming with Rangeview, Hotchkiss, and Ricardo Ranch, known for their lakeside lifestyles.
-
South West (Brown Zone): Alpine Park and Vermilion Hill are redefining the SW edge near the ring road.
-
North East (Pink Zone): Look for Homestead and Cityscape for accessible new options near major transport routes.
Understanding the Zones
The map is color-coded to help you narrow your search quickly. When browsing MLS® listings this year, you will often see these zones referenced:
-
West (Orange): Prestigious slopes and mountain views (e.g., Springbank Hill, Aspen Woods).
-
South (Tan): Established family favourites (e.g., Lake Bonavista, Willow Park and Canyon Meadows).
-
East (Green): Established residential pockets (including Southview and Forest Lawn) and the new communities of Belvedere and Huxley, east of Stoney Trail
