Valley Ridge is an established community at Calgary's western edge, along the Bow River and north of the Trans-Canada Highway. It was established in 1992 on the former site of the Happy Valley Campground, which had operated in the area until the 1980s. Housing is almost entirely single-family detached, with one of the lowest rental rates of any Calgary community.
