Queensland South Calgary MLS® Listings
Houses, Condos and Real Estate For Sale by Calgary REALTORS®.
Queensland is a South Calgary community first developed in 1973 on land annexed to the city in 1961, and was originally known as Queensland Downs. It is bounded by Anderson Road and Deerfoot Trail to the north, the Bow River to the east, Canyon Meadows Drive to the south, and Bow Bottom Trail to the west. Housing is predominantly single-family, with some multi-family development mixed in. An escarpment overlooking the Bow River has been kept as public open space, preserving natural character while giving residents direct access to the riverbank. In 1991, the community's northeastern section was carved off to form the separate community of Diamond Cove. Haultain Memorial Elementary, Queensland Downs Elementary, and Wilma Hansen Junior High serve local students. Compared to Parkland just to the south, Queensland has an older development date, a Bow River escarpment rather than a Fish Creek Park boundary, and a broader mix of housing types.
