Kingsland South Calgary MLS® Listings
Houses, Condos and Real Estate For Sale by Calgary REALTORS®.
Kingsland is a mature community in South Calgary, bounded by Glenmore Trail to the north, Macleod Trail to the east, Heritage Drive to the south, and Elbow Drive to the west. It was established in 1957, with its community association formally registered in 1960, on land previously farmed by Harnam Singh Hari, recognized as Alberta's first Sikh settler, who worked the property until 1956; a neighbourhood park was named in his honour in 2014. Housing is dominated by original postwar bungalows and split-levels from the late 1950s and 1960s, with a growing share of infill redevelopment. Kingsland is home to a mix of long-time owners, newer buyers, and renters. Its position along Macleod Trail and Glenmore Trail puts Chinook Centre, downtown Calgary, and the Glenmore Reservoir pathway system within a short drive. Compared to newer south Calgary communities, Kingsland offers mature trees and an established, centrally located feel rather than large planned amenity centres.
